The Avenue brand was born in the late 1990’s by United Retail Group, Inc. The chain had previously been a diverse portfolio of stores under various trade names. In late 2007, Redcats USA acquired Avenue and now operates approximately 450 stores in 38 states as well as the avenue.com web site.
