La Redoute enters the era of mobile internet
Shop at La Redoute via a mobile phone
Since September, it is possible to shop at La Redoute via a mobile phone.
La Redoute – a Redcats Group brand – has developed a complete shopping service by mobile phone. Customers can purchase – products chosen in the catalogue or on redoute.fr website –, they can check availability of chosen articles on direct, select a method of payment and delivery, and finally pay online. All La Redoute products and available services can thus now be found on this mobile phone service.
La Redoute has aimed at a “simple, rapid, pragmatic” service. No specific phone subscription is necessary. The process has been simplified to a maximum: no alphanumeric characters, a plain interface with no images, and orders are transmitted within two to three minutes only. The service is compatible with 70% of existing French phone companies as a GPRS standard is suffice.
The advantage of this new shopping method compared to the traditional telephone: “ability to order right at the start of the Sales, for example, from anywhere ….”
One month after its launch – by mid-October, the brand has registered more than 2 000 connections via this new service.
